It was a future plan, but now it's a reality and that is to share our home in Soldotna Alaska as vacation rental. Since we are less than 10 min drive to public access to the Kenai river(Salmon central!), it's kind of a good location.
The first step was finding a reliable cleaner who was not only trustworthy, but does an excellent job. We were in luck! The gentleman who cleans the church down the street, agreed to clean for us. We do have lots of lofty future plans that we hope become a reality!
At the end of the 2026 season is build a deck ontop of the shipping container with pressure treated lumber. This will be a cool place were we can setup a BBQ and have a nice picnic bench... heck it's long enough for a bowling alley.
But a higher priority is fencing in the back yard because we've had a couple times where the pups decide to go on their own adventure.
Also we would like to build a mudroom/arctic Entry that will help with heating costs and keep things clean.
We also want to build a second house, this one made entirely of foxblock cement. We want to build an earth home. We are several years away from doing anything like that, but it is nice to dream.
